Meggitt has many years of experience producing high performance cooling
fans. Our design process considers all aspects of the application, and then
forms an integrated solution resulting in maximum aerodynamic performance for a
given volume and weight.
Meggitt propulsion cooling fans have been produced in a wide
variety of configurations, ranging from axial flow to centrifugal flow, with
various drives. Methods of fan drive include the use of AC induction motors,
brushless DC motors, hydraulic motors, and direct shaft drive.
Meggitt fans are found on many vehicles, such as the M1A2 battle tank,
M113 Light Armored Vehicle, the Bradley Fighting Vehicle, and the M109
Self-Propelled Howitzer. Meggitt is developing fans for various Future Combat
Systems (FCS) vehicles.
